A metrology based on 4 lasers is used to determine the path difference present in the interferometer in order to sample the science signal at a constant path difference.

This metrology, thanks to its 4 points in the pupil, also means wave surface changes can be measured during science data acquisition: these data will then be transmitted and used on the ground to correct the evolution of the observed modulation.
